What I've learned
Running my own business taught me about responsibility, uncertainty and the decisions that can follow you home at the end of the day. Leading teams in larger organisations gave me a different perspective, particularly around people, performance and the importance of having a clear direction. I've made mistakes, faced difficult decisions and learned that there is rarely a single answer that works for every business. What works brilliantly for one might not work for another. One thing that has stayed with me is the importance of stepping away from the day-to-day pressures occasionally. It's difficult to see the bigger picture when you're constantly dealing with what's immediately in front of you. That's why I believe in honest conversations, practical support and having someone you trust to challenge your thinking when needed. Sometimes a fresh perspective is all it takes to see a different way forward.
Who I Am Today
After more than 35 years in business, I'm now putting that experience to work supporting independent business owners here in Sheffield. I enjoy getting to know the people behind the businesses, understanding what they're trying to achieve and helping them work through the challenges along the way.
For me, it's about working with people, not just businesses.
Why Am I Doing This?
Sheffield isn't just where I work. It's home. I've lived here, raised my family here and spent years getting to know the people and businesses that make our communities what they are. I know Ecclesall Road, Banner Cross and the surrounding areas because they're part of my everyday life. I use the local shops, enjoy the cafés and restaurants, and see firsthand how much independent businesses contribute to our community.
After more than 35 years in business, I want to put that experience to good use closer to home. Helping the people behind these businesses overcome challenges, find opportunities and build something they're proud of feels like a natural next chapter for me.

A Little About Me
Sheffield S11 is home, and I love the community spirit we have around here. You'll often find me enjoying a pint in The Itchy Pig or eating at one of the fantastic independent restaurants we're lucky enough to have on our doorstep. I've always been passionate about people and enjoy getting involved in the local community.
I spent many years playing cricket until my knees decided otherwise! These days, I'm more likely to be found enjoying a round of golf or walking around Sheffield and the Peak District. I married Nicola last year after 16 years together. She's also a familiar face around S11, running a children's club and creating her wonderful bespoke cakes.
Between us, we have seven children, so there's certainly never a dull moment! Family, friends and community mean a great deal to me. And whether it's in business or everyday life, I've always enjoyed meeting people, hearing their stories and helping wherever I can.
